Brutality and Affinity
The New Year’s break ended with a maelstrom of world events.
America’s attack on Venezuela and the capture of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife. The uprising in Iran and the massacre of thousands of protestors. Donald Trump’s continued threats to take over Greenland and destroy the Nato alliance by targeting one of its members.
One moment among all of the geopolitical shifts put a human face to the brutality of the United States’ descent.
Shot three times in the face without any provocation, 37-year-old unarmed mother-of-three, Renee Good, was killed by a US ICE agent on 7 January.
