‘Weren’t Those Black-Clad Lads on That Dover Train So Terribly Polite?’

The fascist loves balance. He won’t admit he does. He’ll rage about the weakness of the liberal media and lying press. But he loves balance.

Balance is what lets his poison slip into the system so effectively. It’s what turns the violent hatred of the street thug into the ‘legitimate concerns’ of the community.

Despite their pronouncements, ‘mainstream’ right-wing commentators love the fascist in return. It allows them to be the reasonable ones.

They can issue loud condemnations while laundering the same ideas laced with longer words and lacquered with a thin layer of politeness. ‘See,’ they can say, ‘if you don’t do what we advise, that’s where we’re headed.’
