No Hunger for Climate Action
It’s often said the first responsibility of any government is to guarantee the safety of its citizens. On this measure, the Prime Minister is manifestly failing.
In spite of his frequent pledges to the effect that “the safety and security of the British people will always be my top priority”, Keir Starmer is not only not prioritising our security, he’s actively been seeking to suppress evidence of the seriousness of the threats we face.
I’m referring to the recent ‘Global Biodiversity Loss, Ecosystem Collapse and National Security’ report by the Joint Intelligence Committee.
Available within government since last April, the assessment was finally published publicly a few weeks ago – and only under the force of a Freedom of Information request – without publicity, and with some of its most alarming predictions removed.
