Margaret Heffernan

Entrepreneur & Writer

Margaret Heffernan has been blurring the line between business leadership and creative thinking for more than two decades.

As well as her eight books, she has delivered a series of oft-cited TED talks, produced TV documentaries, written radio plays, and still found time to serve as CEO in five businesses. While many people talk about unlocking the creative potential of business and putting collaboration at their core, Heffernan has actually done it and turned the results into a series of bestselling books.

She has a knack for finding the right subject at just the right moment.

Embracing Uncertainty, her most recent book published last year, will come as a welcome shot of adrenalin to anyone who is troubled by the prevailing neo-behaviourist, techno-optimism of the current moment. She argues that it is our fear of uncertainty, rather than its avoidance, which can become our biggest asset in delivering freedom and justice for all. And that the past masters of negotiating this process are the very writers, musicians, and artists who AI is poised to replace.
