What if becoming a better human wasn’t about grand gestures or being perfect — but about small, meaningful actions done with care?
In How To Be A Better Human, everyday optimist Mike Dickson shares stories, insights, and ideas from a life transformed by once saying
“Yes” to something that led to a chain of events that changed thousands of lives, including his own.
From founding Whizz-Kidz, which has become the UK’s largest charity for young wheelchair users, to uncovering the quiet power of presence, Mike draws on a lifetime of listening, learning and showing up.
He reminds us that in a world full of complexity, kindness still counts — and we all have a role to play. Because sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is sit quietly beside someone and truly care.
This is not a self-help book. It’s a help-others book. It’s for anyone wondering how to live life better because we can. A reminder that being a better human doesn’t require money, status or genius — just a willingness to care.
Because the more you give, the more you get. And it really is that simple.
