Can Conservatives conserve anything? Perhaps only their loyalty to party donors.

That’s the conclusion to be reached after Kemi Badenoch ditched the Tories’ longstanding support for reaching net zero by 2050 – following donations from key funders of a climate science denial group that has campaigned against the target, Adam Bienkov reports.

The cash came from figures linked to the Tufton Street-based Global Warming Policy Foundation and its affiliated campaign group, Net Zero Watch – both of which have argued that the UK should abandon its net zero commitments.
