The Bad Press Awards are a joke; a bitter joke, but a joke nonetheless.

The strength of these awards, both in their monthly form as a column and their yearly physical manifestation at the Byline Festival, is that we know that they are a joke.

The Spectator Parliamentarian of the Year Awards, on the other hand, are meant to be taken quite seriously.
