Reform UK’s Darren Grimes faces allegations that he lied to the residents he was elected to represent in May’s local elections, after he claimed police had advised him not to hold surgeries with his constituents – only for the police to inform Byline Times that this was untrue.

A Durham resident contacted the recently elected 31-year-old Reform Deputy Leader of Durham County Council – a former GB News host – in order to request assistance in addressing parking problems in his ward.

He asked Grimes: “Can you confirm surgery dates and any public meetings where this [issue] will be covered?”
